Specific Need

As the Forest is prepared to celebrate the 50th Anniversary in 2026,  the memorial waterfall and pond honoring one of our founders, Joe Carrigan, needs repairs totaling $15,000.  This includes a new liner, the replacement of many stones, new parts, and some landscaping.  Joe Carrigan loved the International Forest of. Friendship and toiled tirelessly for nearly 30 years in building and maintaining the Forest to celebrate "world friendship through flight."  The vision he shared with his co-founder, Fay Gillis Wells, continues today as the Board plans for a spectacular celebration in 2026!

There are three ways to donate and be eligible for the 60% match: 

  •  Join us in-person for a match day happy hour tonight from 4-7 PM at the Atchison Event Center on August 22. Stop by our table and learn more about the Forest! Fly a plane if you’d like!  Gifts of checks, cash, and credit cards are accepted at the event. 
  •  Donate at www.AllAboardAtchison.com from August 22, 12 AM to August 24, 11:59 PM. 

Make a difference!  Let’s repair the Memorial Waterfall and Pond honoring fourder Joe Carrigan  for the 50th Anniversary of the International Forest of Friendship!  Several of Joe Carrigan's grandchildren serve on some of the committees for the Forest and they say, "Save Papa Joe's pond!"

The International Forest of Friendship's mission is to honor and commemorate the contributions of individuals involved in aviation and aerospace. It serves as a living, growing memorial to the world history of these fields, with trees representing all 50 states and over 35 countries.
