Specific Need
The Guidance Center, a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) serving Northeast Kansas, is dedicated to providing mental health and substance use treatment to all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. We believe that mental health is a need for all, and we are committed to providing access to mental health resources.
As a CCBHC, this open-access requirement is central to our mission, but it also creates our greatest fundraising need. While state and federal funding supports core services, it does not fully cover the cost of care for the growing number of uninsured or underinsured individuals seeking help. Philanthropic support is essential to filling this gap and ensuring no one is turned away. Donations directly support mental health programs such as outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, psychiatric care, school-based services, and other vital programs for those who cannot afford them.
This commitment to accessible care is our most pressing financial priority. With community support, we can continue to meet the behavioral health needs of our region and expand services based on that need.
Mission
The Guidance Center promotes healthy communities by providing integrated behavioral healthcare services and partnering in the delivery of general healthcare in Atchison, Jefferson and Leavenworth counties.
