Profile

The Mary Lea Johanning Scholarship Foundation was founded to promote the attributes of Mary Lea Johanning who passed away from Kidney Cancer in 2007. She was a Atchison High School graduate in 1999 and graduated from University of Kansas with a degree in School Psychology . The foundation has an annual race event, Joggin for the Noggin, that typically occurs the last weekend of September each year since 2010. The ultimate goal of the foundation is to raise enough funds to make her scholarship self-sustaining and funded annually. Each year's scholarship recipient is a graduating woman from Atchison High School who plans to seek additional education at a Kansas university or college.
