No family should be priced out of raising strong sons. Troop 3 is growing, and we need help making sure cost is never the reason a father and son sit out. It also allows for the Troop to provide gear & experiences that are truly once in a lifetime. Your gift on Giving Day, August 14th, funds scholarships for families who need them and helps us expand our offering into truly transformational adventures: legitimate equipment, real backcountry trips, hands on skills, and service that shapes boys into men. Mission

Troop 3, Kapaun's Boys, forms Catholic fathers and sons in faith and virtue through outdoor adventure, skills training, and brotherhood. We are a recognized troop within Troops of Saint George. Named for Venerable Emil Kapaun, a Kansas priest and Medal of Honor recipient, we exist to build men of courage and sacrificial love, one campout and one virtue at a time. A father who shows up for his son changes that boy's life. We give fathers the place to do it.

Profile

Troop 3 serves families across the Atchison area, offering fathers and sons a place to grow together in faith, skill, and brotherhood. Each month, cadets and their fathers gather for meetings, campouts, and hands on service projects rooted in the Catholic tradition. Our Achievement Course teaches practical skills alongside virtue formation, so boys grow into men of character, not just credentials.

We are proud to call Atchison home, alongside Benedictine College and Saint Benedict's Abbey. Today, Troop 3 serves around 14 families and more than 30 cadets, and we are growing. Every family who joins strengthens our mission to raise the next generation of Catholic men, one father and son at a time.

Troop 3 also serves as the seat of the Troops of Saint George Great Plains Region, covering Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa. Our Captain serves as Regional Director, helping new troops form and grow across the region. Supporting Troop 3 strengthens not only our own families, but the broader movement to restore faithful, father led formation across the Great Plains.
