Atchison County Historical Society

Specific Need

Our organization's main focus at this point is improving our inventory process and digitzing our collection in every way possible so we can share with researchers and the general public. We have a wealth of information and photographs that could be very helpful and informative to many interested in local history. We have received much volunteer help the last couple years. This additional help has caused the need to improve our computer equipment near term so we are effectively using those volunteers.

We have been fortunate to have received a couple large grants that has allowed us to employ a person for this year to be in the museum daily and assist us developing our data base. Continuing with that level of financial support in the future will keep us on the fast track of meeting our goals.

Funds received in the next year will be used to purchase the equipment and continue to keep our one employee.
