To help  contuine to support Economic Development within Atchison County.

Mission

Purpose of this fund is to support various projects / programs that help economic development, (less any incentives).

Profile

Since 1982 when the Atchison Area Economic Development Corporation was established, outside of any public funding, with just local businesses contributing funds to help "create a job", and or recruit new business to come to Atchison County, this organization has either established or helped with the following:

• Established the Shannon Industrial Park, incojustion with the City of Atchison.
  • Helped encourage Golden Star, Inc. to become one of the first businesses out in Shannon.
  • Recruited StressCrete, Inc. to build out in Shannon
• Helped acquire the Atchison Conference Center, now known as the Atchison Event Center from Mount St. Scholastica Monastery.
• Helped acquire land owned by various owners in order for MGP Ingredients, Inc to build their corporate office and technical center near the river off of Commercial Street
• Contributed funds to help with the Fox Theatre Campaign
• A partner in the CERG Grant program that has helped Rainbow Communications build out of their fiber network in Atchison County.
• And so much more!

This organization is not funded by the City or County of Atchison.
