To celebrate Amelia Earhart as Atchison's most famous daughter; to use the educational part of the festival to inspire and encourage all who attend to follow their dreams!Profile
The purpose of the festival is to celebrate Amelia Earhart, who always called Atchison her hometown. We honor her memory and accomplishments by honoring women today who follow their dreams, reach for the stars, and accomplish great things by presenting a Pioneering Achievement Award each year. Previous recipients include Kathy Sullivan, Eileen Collins, Moya Lear, Mae Jameson and many others in our 27-year history. Recipients of the award attend the festival, participate in a speaker's symposium and are the featured speaker at a luncheon held in their honor.
